Cape Cod League cancels season

CAPE COD, Mass. — The Cape Cod Baseball League Executive Committee voted unanimously to cancel this summer’s Cape Cod League season, the league announced Friday.

The decision was based on the health concerns and safety needs of all involved due to the coronavirus pandemic. Following CDC guidelines and medical recommendations, the league determined it would be impossible to guarantee the safety of players, coaches, umpires, host families, volunteers and fans during this unprecedented health crisis.

The Cape Cod League is the top collegiate summer baseball league in the country.
