2016 MLB Draft: Delvin Perez fails drug test

Prep Puerto Rico shortstop and highly touted 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft prospect Delvin Perez has failed a drug test, according to MLB insider Jon Heyman.

The top infielder in the 2016 draft class, Perez is a defensive wizard at shortstop, possessing an above average arm with good speed and instincts that allow him to have outstanding range.

While he has work to do offensively, he has the tools and potential to develop into a respectable hitter in professional baseball.

Prior to this failed drug test surfacing, Perez was considered a top 10 pick in the MLB Draft, but now he’ll likely fall significantly on draft night.
