2017 MLB Draft: Brewers hold 4 picks in top 100

Although the 2017 MLB First-Year Player Draft is just over four months away, the Milwaukee Brewers are already preparing to add quality young players to their improving farm system.

Due to their unforgettable season a year ago, the Brewers hold the No. 9 overall pick in June’s MLB Draft. The Brewers have four total picks in the top 100 selections (No. 9, 34, 46 and 84).

The draft bonus pools are also set for the 2017 draft with the Brewers holding the sixth largest bonus allotment in baseball at $9,949,200.

The pools are set up for negotiating and paying out bonuses to players selected in the first 10 rounds of the draft, while each selection comes with a recommended bonus slot value. Teams can sign players drafted after the 10th round for up to $125,000 before their bonus counts against the team’s assigned pool.

The 2017 MLB Draft begins on June 12 and runs through June 14. For the best MLB Draft coverage check out The3rdManIn.com for player interviews and profiles, along with analysis on players and the draft.
