Matt Scott develops into Stanford’s ace

Matt Scott emerged as a top MLB draft prospect during his first two years at Stanford. Now, scouts consider the 6-foot-7, 245-pound right-handed pitcher a potential first-round pick in the 2025 draft.

Scott is a durable frame with notable physicality and a workhorse-type mindset on the mound. His fastball touches 98 mph with tons of late movement. He also throws an above-average slider that generates swings and misses and has worked on developing an improved changeup this offseason.
