Jordan Lawlar, a prep shortstop from Texas, is the top prospect in July’s MLB draft class. The Pittsburgh Pirates are considering Lawlar with the top overall pick, while he also is drawing interest from his hometown Texas Rangers at No. 2.
Lawlar is a five-tool player and will stick at shortstop long-term. Pro scouts rave about Lawlar’s makeup and attitude, making him a complete and highly intriguing prep player.
