The 2022 MLB draft begins on July 17 in Los Angeles. This year’s class is deep with position players. The pitching crop is deep at the prep level while the college class is less talented, especially after numerous arms have suffered season-ending injuries.
Players are starting to separate themselves since I wrote my last mock draft. But there is still plenty of time for players to solidify themselves as first-round picks between now and draft day.
Below is a look at a first-round mock draft. You can view in-depth breakdowns of each pick and player by subscribing to the Baseball Prospect Journal Patreon page. The mock draft with insight and analysis will be available on the Patreon page in the coming days.
