3. Atlanta Braves: Jason Groome, LHP, Barnegat (N.J.) HS
The Braves are in total rebuilding mode and their farm system is stacked with pitching. Many believe because of that they will take the best position player available. However, in recent weeks it appears they will take the best player available regardless of position.
Despite some maturity question marks, Groome is arguably the best player in the draft and would make a lot of sense for the rebuilding Brewers who are searching for elite pitching prospects.
A 6-foot-6, 180-pound left-hander, Groome has all the makings of being a top-of-the-rotation starting pitcher. He has a clean delivery that repeats well, while possessing a mid-90s fastball and solid secondary staff.
