1. Philadelphia Phillies: A.J. Puk, LHP, Florida
The Phillies aren’t tipping their hand on who they will select with the No. 1 overall pick on June 9. However, it seems like it has now come down to Florida left-handed pitcher A.J. Puk and Mercer outfielder Kyle Lewis.
Although Puk was inconsistent early on in the season and missed time with back spasms, he has since rounded into form and again looks like a top of the line starter.
A 6-foot-7, 230-pound lefty, Puk has wipeout stuff, featuring an upper 90s fastball, and has the potential to move through a system quickly.
